Notes for a Meditation on Joseph and Potiphar's Wife
A Scout is Trustworthy:
A Scout’s Honor is to be Trusted. Genesis 39:7-23.
(Joseph rejects Potiphar’s wife.)
The person giving the “sermon” could simply tell this story after thoroughly reviewing it. It doesn’t need much commentary, except to point out that even though Joseph was misunderstood and unjustly put in jail, he remained trustworthy, and ultimately was released and became second in command of the entire nation.
For additional sermon material, review Proverbs 5:1-6, advising young men to stay away from “loose women.”
